Our Trust and Estates practice is led by Stan Whetzel.

Our clients desire the peace of mind afforded by a carefully constructed, comprehensive estate plan. Such an estate plan enables our clients to clearly describe how they wish their estate to be administered and allows them to control the type of ongoing care they desire should they become incapacitated and unable to speak for themselves in the future.

A well-crafted estate plan allows clients to take care of their loved ones while also remembering friends and favorite charities. A well-crafted estate plan also focuses on preserving assets and minimizing the tax burden during not only a client’s lifetime but that of his or her heirs as well.

Without careful planning, a large portion of an individual’s assets may be taken by the Internal Revenue Service. We can help minimize the impact of estate taxes so client assets pass in accordance with his or her wishes instead of going to the IRS.

We provide practical solutions that control the tax consequences for during your lifetime and for your family so we can preserve the bulk of your assets and insure they pass to your intended heirs. Our estate planning practice includes:

• Wills
• Durable powers of attorney
• Advance medical directives
• Living wills
• Revocable and irrevocable trusts
• Special needs trusts
• Life insurance trusts
• Educational trusts
• Spousal trusts
• Grantor trusts
• Charitable remainder trusts
• Generation-skipping trusts
• Conservatorships
• Guardianships
• Family limited partnerships
• Business succession planning
• Insurance planning
